PULSE – The smart control system for modern escape rooms
PULSE is the control center for your escape rooms.
A system that lets you start games, give hints, control puzzles and offer your guests a truly professional experience – all intuitive, clear and without complicated technology.
What is PULSE?
PULSE combines all the important functions you need in everyday escape room life.
You control your rooms, see live what's happening in the game, and give the teams hints with a single click. Timers, sounds, room intros, and end screens run automatically at the same time.
The system is designed so that even new employees can use it immediately.
Your everyday life will be more relaxed, your rooms will run cleaner – and your guests will immediately notice the difference.
How PULSE works
PULSE runs entirely on an Android tablet.
This way, you always have your escape rooms under control wherever you need them: directly at reception, on the go in the room, or flexibly between multiple games. No PC installation, no complicated setups – just turn on your tablet, open PULSE, and start.
You start the game directly via the app. From that moment on, PULSE monitors all connected puzzles, sensors, and effects in real time. You can see the elapsed game time, the team's progress, solved puzzles, and whether a hint has been requested.
With a single tap, you can instantly send help texts or videos to the monitor in the room.
All room actions – lights, sound, doors, magnets, mechanisms – can be controlled via defined triggers and relays. The system reacts instantly and runs reliably in the background without requiring constant readjustment.
For the finale, PULSE takes over automatically:
Stop the timer, play the end screen, trigger the Windows sound, and – if enabled – display the high score ranking.
Your technology remains well-organized, your team maintains an overview, and your players get the immersive experience they expect.

-
Reset – Full Room Reset with external puzzle integration
In PULSE, the reset function resets the entire room with a single click – game status, puzzles, timeline, Opta relays and external controllers – and brings the room cleanly into Ready mode, including logging and warnings, so that no detail is forgotten.
-
Front desk
The front desk view displays all rooms in a compact overview, perfect for reception. Staff can immediately see which room is in use, how much playing time remains, whether assistance has been requested, or if there are any technical issues. The view is intentionally simplified so that even new employees can start working immediately without training – ideal for peak times and smooth operations.
-
Monitoring
The monitoring system displays the complete status of a room in real time: playtime, solved puzzles, open doors, sensor readings, malfunctions, and technical information. Game masters can instantly see what's happening in the room and react quickly. The clearly structured interface ensures that every game runs smoothly and under control.
-
Automatic hardware detection (Opta + Extensions)
PULSE automatically detects which hardware is installed in the room – both the Opta itself and all connected extension modules. Upon startup, the system reads the complete configuration and immediately displays all available inputs and outputs in the editor.
-
Gamescene button
Five freely definable actions at the touch of a button, Relay High/Low, adjustable trigger duration
Control of external sources such as light, sound, video player, fog, etc.
Quick trigger for story or effects sequences -
Touch monitor in the room
Game time display for players, touch help, story intro (including video), text hints & sounds, individual room design
Hardware & Technology – stable, professional and flexibly expandable
PULSE runs on real industrial hardware.
At its core is the Arduino Opta , a micro-PLC designed for continuous operation that works reliably even on busy weekends. No DIY solutions here – just technology made for professional automation.
To ensure you have enough connections for your puzzles, sensors, and effects, we're expanding the Opta with Digital Extensions . Each extension brings additional digital/analog inputs and relays – and you can operate up to five of them on one Opta.
We include two extensions as standard.
That gives you a total of:
➜ 40 inputs (for sensors, triggers, switches, magnets, buttons, etc.)
➜ 20 relay outputs (for doors, lights, effects, magnets, sounds, mechanisms)
This already covers large rooms completely. If you need more, you simply plug in another extension – without rewiring or complicated modifications.
PULSE automatically recognizes each extension.
New inputs and outputs appear immediately in the editor – neatly sorted and ready to use.
You assign them to the desired function via drag and drop . Quick, intuitive, and without programming.
The result:
A system that runs at an industrial technical level, but is as easy to use as an app.
Stable. Flexible. Future-proof.

Manual puzzles – PULSE also works without technology
PULSE can control more than just technical puzzles and relays. Manual puzzles can also be created in the editor – ideal for operators who use few or no technical components.
Digital vs. Manual – this is what the difference looks like
The future lies on the left:
PULSE controls the entire room digitally, clearly and securely.
All puzzles, doors, sensors and effects are controlled centrally via the app – clearly structured, documented and traceable at any time.
On the right, the past:
Manually crafted switches, individual wiring, and physical buttons quickly become cluttered and are difficult to maintain.
Hardware & Update
PULSE is based on a modular hardware architecture consisting of Arduino Opta® and compatible extensions. All modules are automatically detected – inputs, outputs, and relays are immediately available in the editor, without any setup or programming.
